Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
While passing through Luxembourg on the Sinful Attraction tour, Tori sat down to chat with celebrity interviewer Oliver Tanson. While you can listen to clips from her answers to his questions (that, honestly, sound like they were taken from an American Doll Posse tour interview), the typical Toriphile may be more interested in the photo gallery there that features shots of Tori and Oliver by Thomas Nattermann as well as some lovely concert photos from the den Atelier concert taken by Tom Di Maggio. Additional photographs from that set can be found in a slideshow at Di Maggio’s website.
Sebastian notes that player.de lists Tori on the schedule of Austrian television station ServusTV’s In Concert series.
According to player.de, Tori will one of two artists to be featured on the series on Friday, December 4th. No details are given and, unfortunately, a quick check of ServusTV’s website turns up program information only to the end of October. So, whether this will be new footage or previously-released material (as is the case with the Oasis and Gwen Stefani concert films being aired this weekend) remains to be seen but details will undoubtedly surface soon enough.
According to ToriAmos.com and Everything Tori, the session Tori recently recorded for The World Cafe (presumably while she passing through Philadelphia back in August) will be aired on Friday, October 23rd. WXPN, the station where The World Cafe originates, concurs.
Tune in if your local NPR station broadcasts the program or listen live on WXPN’s stream on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Eastern.
Update: If you missed the brodcast yesterday or your local NPR station doesn’t carry The World Cafe (or if you don’t have a local NPR station), the interview is now archived for your streaming pleasure!
Well, the first Tori Amos Fantasy Setlist Night is under our belts, and it was a blast! It’s hard to point up highlights, because just about every performance was a highlight, but among the many surprise songs were covers of “Real Men,” “Desperado,” “Only Women Bleed,” and I think everyone was on the floor when we kicked the show off with “Bad Company.” I also debuted a short film I editted for “Datura,” since there is no live performance of that. (“Datura” was the #1 most-requested song by a landslide.)
So perhaps now it’s clearer why it was so hard for us to answer questions like “Is Tori going to be performing?” No … but, um, yeah, kinda.
If you weren’t able to join us, you can relive the show again any time you want over in the Tour section. (Well, at least until the videos go poof!, as most eventually do.)
Feel free to leave your “reviews” of the event, and we look forward to doing another in the future. But first, we need to recover and gear up for the start of the UK/European leg of the tour.
A lot of people are confused about what the Tori Amos Fantasy Setlist Night is going to be. This is understandable. It’s difficult for us to explain what it is and how it will work beforehand because we’re trying to retain an element of surprise and anticipation, the sort of happy feeling you’d experience on the day of an actual concert.
What I can tell you is that it will be a somewhat unusual interactive Twitter-based event — the posting of a fantasy setlist (as in dream, made-up, make-believe, etc.) — intended to provide a bit of entertainment for fans during the hiatus between the US and UK legs of the tour. How it will be done and which songs were chosen, well, that’s the surprise. No, we’re not going to sit around posting random song titles and stats all night, and no, it will not be a special performance by Tori. But we think it will be fun, especially for those of you who aren’t going to be able to attend any of the shows this tour (or those who have and are sad it’s over). If you don’t like it, you can always wander away.
Where: Undented Twitter
When: Tonight at 9pm. We will show up about an hour early to chat and gear up, and we’ll go until about 11:15pm (approximately).
Bring: Yourself, a computer (if you’re not in front of a computer, it won’t be much fun), something to drink, snacks, a diaper.
How: You don’t need to have a Twitter account to watch our [Twitter] stream and follow along, but you will need to refresh the page at regular intervals to see each new update/song.
If this event goes well, it could be the start of something really nifty. We have loads of ideas for the future.
And on a more personal note…
What song would you most like to see on a Tori Amos fantasy setlist?
For the next 24 hours, we’ll be taking your submissions for Tori Amos Fantasy Setlist Night.
Here are the rules:
1) You may submit more than one song, however you must submit each song separately and you must use the complete song title (no abbreviations).
2) You don’t need to be on Twitter to submit a song or view the results, but if you are on Twitter, please use your @TwitterID as your name, making sure to include the @ symbol.
Submissions for the fantasy setlist are now closed. Join us for Tori Amos Fantasy Setlist Night starting at 9pm Eastern on Monday, August 31st on Undented Twitter.
Tori was one of Jane Farrow’s guests on Jian Ghomeshi’s CBC radio program Q earlier today. Tori performed live and they also discussed the new record. While the spot has already been aired, the show is available as a podcast from CBC — download it while it’s hot! (Tori’s segment starts around the 12 minute mark.)
WXPN is doing a special Saturday edition of their Free At Noon concert series with Tori and Passion Pit at the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia on August 15th. The show itself sold out almost instantly, but you can listen online on WXPN. (From what we understand, the show will also be archived, at least for a bit. Not sure whether streaming is available internationally or not. Hope so!)
Thanks to Anna Boisnic for telling us about this.
Josh let us know that the Private Artist Showcase recorded at the Ram’s Head Tavern last weekend for WRNR would be aired for the first time this morning. Alas, we tuned in just in time to miss it.
Fortunately, it will be rebroadcast Sunday night at 9:00 PM Eastern — and WRNR’s online stream is working this weekend!
Even if you miss the rebroadcast, nearly the entire appearance was YouTubed by several folks.
While in Minneapolis, Tori swung by the studios of Minneasota public radio station The Current for an in-studio appearance. She chatted with host Steve Steel about Abnormally Attrracted to Sin and performed three songs: “Ophelia,” “Silent All These Years” and “Mary Jane.” The entire in-studio can be streamed on The Current’s website and they’ve also been kind enough to post video of the three songs on YouTube — jump the cut to check those out!
Thanks to Amanda for catching this!
