Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
Everything Tori has announced that Tori will be taping an episode for the television program Live from the Artists Den in New York City on Wednesday, December 9th.
You can win a chance to be in the audience at the taping by entering this contest at The Artists Den website. While the location of the taping is, unsurprisingly, a secret, the time appears to be one as well. In any event, winners will be notified by e-mail and details sent to them before the show.
Just a reminder that the taping for the eTown Holiday Show takes place this evening at the Grand Ballroom at Manhattan Center. Tickets are still available from Ticketmaster so if you are in or around New York City and have the evening free, this is the best chance to see Tori performing songs from Midwinter Graces as the Soundcheck broadcast on Wednesday is rather sold out.
If you are going, please remember to arrive on time as the live recording may restrict admission once the show begins. Doors are at 7:00 PM and the show will start promptly at 8:00 PM.
At this time, we do not know if there will be a meet and greet before the show. Since this is a special performance that’s not part of a tour but is part of a week of promotion for the record, one would guess that there are other things planned for this afternoon…but you never know. If there is one, it will probably be mid-to-late afternoon before soundcheck. If we hear anything either way, we’ll let you know.
Finally, due to illness, Jesse Winchester has had to back out of the show. Loudon Wainwright III will be taking his place
Just a quick note before heading into the office to say that the setlist for last night’s show at The Jazz Cafe has been posted — thanks to Colin Michael and Mark & Sean for sending it in. The songs chosen look mighty tasty with a nice sample of tunes from Midwinter Graces as well as some unexpected choices sprinkled in: “Dragon” (!) and “Mrs. Jesus.”
There’s one review posted already and would love to hear from more people if you were lucky enough to attend and have some thoughts you’d like to share on the evening. Just use the comment form at the bottom of the concert page for the show.
In the meantime, NME’s review can also give you a taste of what the show was like.
Several people have reported success in picking up wristbands at the Oxford Street HMV for tonight’s special performance at The Jazz Cafe. According to Mike, the HMV staff were very efficient and the queue, once it got going, moved very quickly. There were reputedly around 300 wristbands available.
Glad to hear that fans were able to get their ticket into the show tonight and we’re looking forward to hearing the reports from the performance and hearing what people have to say about it!
Don’t have time to wait outside the Oxford Street HMV on the morning of December 2nd in hopes of getting a wristband to get into Tori’s special performance that evening at The Jazz Cafe? Well, Toriamos.com and Everything Tori are giving away ten pairs of wristbands to concert! To enter the drawing, just fill out this entry form. They don’t specify when the winners will be picked, but one presumes that it’ll be on Tuesday, December 1st so get your entries in soon if you want a shot at winning.
Thanks to Josh for catching this and letting us know.
New York City radio station WFUV is giving away five pairs of front row tickets to the December 7th eTown Holiday Show at Manhattan Center! In addition to the tickets, the five winners will also receive passes to a reception after the show where they will get to meet Tori, a copy of Midwinter Graces and a signed, limited-edition Midwinter Graces poster.
To enter the contest, just fill out the entry form at WFUV.org. One entry per person and you must enter before Midnight Eastern on December 2nd. Winners will be notified on December 3rd.
As y’all probably noticed, the Brisbane setlist, thanks to David C., has been up in the Tour section since yesterday. The concert, the final show of the Sinful Attraction tour, took place on Tuesday at the QPAC Concert Hall.
The set included several emotionally-intense songs such as “Playboy Mommy,” “Gold Dust” and “Winter” but the mood was not all heavy as “Mary Jane” was inserted into the set right before the Lizard Lounge. Other songs of note played were “Ruby Through The Looking Glass,” “Upside Down” and “Rattlesnakes.” Despite being a final show, the encore was just one song: “Silent All These Years.”
Despite not getting the front page article about the show up until now, several folks have already posted reviews of the performance and we’d love to hear from more people who were there. If you’d like to voice your thoughts on the concert, please use the form at the bottom of the Brisbane concert page and we’ll get it posted as quickly as we can.
There are a few promotional performances left this year so we can’t close the book on the 2009 tour just yet, but just a note of heartfelt thanks to any and all who have helped cover the Sinful Attraction tour this year! It couldn’t have happened without your contributions: ticket links, tour dates, venue rumors, setlist updates, Youtube videos, photos, reviews, and most of all, your support! We appreciate it all!
We’ll be working on getting caught up with media additions to the tour pages over the long holiday weekend here in the States, so check back for new stuff as we get it posted.
Setlists for Thursday’s Adelaide concert (thanks to @mattbie) and Saturday’s Perth performance (thanks to @Almond87) have been posted in the Tour section. Apologies for the belated front page article about both shows but the end of the week ended up being a rather busy one for both Violet and me.
As always, concert reviews are welcomed with open hands! If you were there and would like to share your thoughts on the performances, please leave a comment and we’ll get it posted as soon as possible — speaking of which, we’re caught up on comments so, if you are so inclined, do check out the earlier shows from the Australian tour for additional reviews of those shows.
The final concert of the Australian leg — and of the Sinful Attraction tour — takes place this coming Tuesday in Brisbane. We’re looking forward to it and hope all that go will enjoy what will undoubtedly be a special performance as the tour comes to a close.
WNYC’s Soundcheck with John Schaefer presents
TORI AMOS
Performing Live and In-person in The Greene Space
Wednesday, December 9 at 2pm
Tickets $10
(November 19, 2009, New York, NY) – Due to popular demand, the Tori Amos interview on WNYC’s weekday music show, Soundcheck, has been moved from the program’s regular radio studio into the station’s Jerome L. Greene Performance Space.
With listeners writing in from as far north as Buffalo, New York and as far south as Austin, Texas to request an up close and personal visit with Ms. Amos, Soundcheck and The Greene Space teamed up to relocate the interview into WNYC’s recently opened, 120-seat street-level, multiplatform broadcast studio and performance space.
Ms. Amos will appear on Soundcheck in The Greene Space on Wednesday, December 9th at 2pm. Tickets are $10, but audiences can also enjoy the interview and performance as a live video webcast at WNYC.org.
Some unlikely artists have produced holiday albums this year, including Bob Dylan and metal god Rob Halford of Judas Priest. But Tori Amos – the minister’s daughter who titled her last album “Abnormally Attracted to Sin” – might be the most surprising candidate. Ms. Amos will talk with Schaefer about the process of overhauling Christmas carols and perform songs from her own contribution to the genre, “Midwinter Graces.”
