Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages since we often post quickie updates there when we're on-the-go.
During tours, we do our best to cover setlists in real-time on Twitter. If you want to tweet a show in, just DM or @ us on the day and tell us to watch your stream that night.
Tori is touring in 2017 to support the release of Native Invader. The European legs runs from early September through early October and the North American leg runs from late October to early December. We do not know if additional dates elsewhere will be added.
Be sure to check out our other sections, Tour — where setlists and other concert-related material will be updated daily while Tori is on tour — and You. Lots of interesting stuff!
Kelsey Munro reviewed the first show at the Opera House for the Sydney Morning Herald, recognizing Tori’s skill but still not quite being convinced by the act…
Clyde opened today’s show in Canberra, delivering her standard set of tunes to lead off the evening, but the big surprises were yet to come: “Pancake”, the first ever performance of “Digital Ghost”, and, during T & Bö, “Here. In My Head” and the first performance of “Me And A Gun” since 2005 in Turkey! Thank to Elizabeth for sending in the setlist. Several folks have already sent in some comments about the evening, but if you would like to share yours, they are always welcome! Just use the form at the bottom of the Canberra page.
Puffing a cigarette, as is her wont, Isabel made her debut appearance in Australia last night at the second Sydney stop of the Australian leg of the tour. Thanks to Brad Schmidt and Lauren for the setlist, which has been posted on in the Tour section. Notable songs include “Tombigbee” (played during Isabel’s set), “Sugar”, “Twinkle” (solo, which Tori extended by repeating the second verse), “Carbon” (played solo, alas!), and “Spark”. A short improv about “turning out the lights” that ended with Tori wondering if “things would ever change” preceded “Spring Haze”.
If you were there and would like to share what you thought of the show, head over to the Sydney page and leave a comment at the bottom — Violet has located a very rare and elusive Candy Cane Toad for the first person to submit a review!
Pip opened the first Sydney show. “Your Cloud” was a nice surprise, as was the return of a second encore to the set (albeit a short one with only one song, “Hey Jupiter”).
Head over to the first Sydney page in the Tour section. We currently have no reviews for this show, so the first person to submit one wins a FREE Cane Toad! (Offer valid only in Australia. Some restrictions may apply.)
It looks like Tori’s Dec. 16 show at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California, will have its presale Friday, Sept. 14 (that’s tomorrow!) from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the password is POSSE. The regular onsale is still scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 15, as far as we know. Thanks, Angelica!
Perez Hilton has posted audio of Tori’s improvisation about Britney Spears from the second Melbourne concert. Honestly, after giving it a spin (the the extent that streaming audio on the net is a spin), it sounds more like a real song than an improv. Could it be, as some have suggested, a song originally written for Neil Gaiman’s “Stardust”, adapted for current events? Even if that’s just a pipedream, it’s still a pretty decent song. (And, incidentally, anybody who can but hasn’t seen the movie yet, for Jeebus’ sake, go!)
Thanks to the many who let us know about this — Craig was the first.
Update: Spinner has the audio clip too.
Lucy also sent in this positively gushing review of the first Melbourne concert that appeared in the Citybeat section of the September 11th edition of Melbourne’s ‘mX’. (Alas, this publication does not appear to publish their content on the web.)
Patrick Emery attended the opening night of Tori’s Australian tour in Melbourne and reviewed it favorably for The Australian. Thanks to lucy for the tip!
The second Melbourne concert is in the can and, despite Violet’s prediction that Isabel would take the stage, it was Clyde who opened the evening. Thanks to Clinton, jamesy and Marcus for sending us the setlist. It included “Sugar”, “Siren”, and “Mother”, as well as two improvs during T & Bö — one dealing with Britney Spears and the other with her Yamaha keyboard that was being difficult.
Reviews are starting to come in and are being posted on the second Melbourne page in the Tour section. If you were there and want to let us know what you thought, use the comment form at the bottom of that page.
Santa opened the first show in Oz. No real surprises in the setlist, but she did play “Tombigbee” and “Space Dog,” which are always treats. She also did a beautiful solo version of “Taxi Ride.” Joel tells us there was a cute improv about what do people in Melbourne eat for breakfast, because Tori only has four Luna Bars left and she wants to get more. (When you need to have a Luna Bar, you really need to have a Luna Bar. If I could teleport some of my stash to her, I would. Not the S’mores ones, though. Those are MINE, ALL MINE!)
If you were at this show and want to submit a review or photos/videos, head over to the Melbourne concert page in the Tour section.
We’re going to go out on a not-so-big limb and predict that Izzie will open the September 11th show. We’ll see…
